Report on transport logistic 2025
The event was officially opened on Monday morning by Federal Minister of Transport Patrick Schnieder and Stefan Rummel, CEO of Messe München.
For XTRAS, as a provider of multimodal Transport Management System (TMS) and Terminal Operating System (TOS), attending this fair was a given. It’s a central industry gathering that allows us to present our solutions, stay attuned to current market developments, and engage in direct dialogue with logistics professionals.
Key themes at this year’s event included digitalization, cybersecurity, sustainability, and artificial intelligence – all areas in which we actively contribute through our products and services. Our company motto this year was: “Work less, do more” – a statement that perfectly reflects the vision of the trade fair: simplifying day-to-day logistics through efficient, scalable, and digital solutions while increasing output.

Key sessions and learnings from the logistics trade fair
- Digitalisation: How freight forwarders are navigating the transition
This panel discussion offered valuable insights into how logistics providers are implementing digital transformation in their daily operations. In the spirit of “Work less, do more,” speakers shared how automation and smart tools can streamline repetitive processes and make them more secure.
- Zero emission logistics thanks to open source: Why it will only work together
This session highlighted the importance of open standards and modular software architecture – especially in the context of TOS – as key enablers for zero-emission logistics. Experts shared new developments and pilot projects.
- Smart Port: Beyond Digitization in Port Management
This session focused on the evolution of the smart port. Representatives from the ports of Barcelona, Huelva, and Vigo shared success stories and strategies around robotics, AI, IoT, autonomous vehicles, and sustainability. These talks offered both forward-looking ideas and practical case studies, making it clear: the future of logistics is already here.
These presentations offered not only visions, but also concrete strategies and modern practical examples that made it clear: the future of logistics is now.
Our trade fair experience: insights and inspiration
Another highlight: the startup pitches at Campus Plaza, where fresh ideas addressed real industry challenges. We were particularly impressed by digital freight marketplace concepts, autonomous yard management systems, and sustainable logistics platforms. These are exactly the kinds of innovations that enable companies to achieve more with less effort.
In numerous conversations with terminal operators, freight forwarders, and software providers, one thing became increasingly clear: open interfaces and modular systems are no longer a “nice to have” – they are essential for future-ready logistics solutions.
New contacts and meaningful exchange: thinking ahead together
- Multimodal TMS for end-to-end planning and control of combined transport chains (road, sea, air, rail)
- XTOS – modular components for managing and customizing terminal processes with clarity and control
- Customs integration for secure, efficient handling of international supply chains
The openness of our conversation partners was impressive. Many approached us with very specific challenges – from data integration across multiple modes of transport to inefficiencies in yard operations. Others were looking for easier customs processes or more transparency in small-scale logistics operations. For our company, this honest and trusting dialog was not only valuable, but also inspiring.
These conversations confirmed the industry’s need for intuitive, scalable, and flexible digital tools – exactly the kind of software we offer. The feedback we received showed us that we’re on the right track.
For the XTRAS team, one thing is certain: we’ll stay in touch! Our goal is not just to deliver innovative logistics software, but to work hand in hand with our customers and partners to develop exactly the solutions they truly need. Because only through dialogue can we create digital tools that work in real-world environments – tailor-made, practical, and future-proof.
