Xcust – connecting your customs software to ATLAS
Xcust provides a certified, secure solution for direct communication with the German customs authorities via ATLAS. All current and planned ATLAS processes undergo regular certification in accordance with the relevant requirements. Our Xcust customs software was certified for ATLAS 10.1 in 2024 and extended to include ATLAS-WKS functionality in 2026.
The certified customs software integrates seamlessly with existing ERP systems without incurring additional transaction fees. Two permanent VPN tunnels ensure secure data exchange, while built-in validation checks automatically detect errors and help ensure the accuracy of submitted messages.
Xcust for ATLAS: supported customs procedures
Xcust enables certified communication with the data centers of the German customs authorities. Customs-relevant data, such as goods details, goods values, customs tariff numbers, container information, etc., is taken from an order entry system (ERP), processed according to ATLAS and transmitted to the customs data center. Answers generated by customs are taken over, forwarded to the appropriate process in the order entry system and made transparent for the user.

- Free traffic (normal procedure for import) [ZBE, ZBV]

- Export (AES) [EXP, EXT, EXQ]
- Customs Bond Completion Information [LBE]

Customs software instead of a clearing centre: your cost advantage
Without in-house customs clearance software, customs declarations are typically processed through third-party providers known as clearing centres. In addition to a monthly flat fee, these providers generally charge transaction-based fees. Based on experience, the cost of ATLAS communication with the customs data centre ranges from approximately €1,000 to €10,000 per year, with high transaction volumes quickly pushing annual costs into five figures. Routing messages through a clearing centre also delays transmission.
With Xcust customs software, you submit declarations directly to customs. Once the software has been purchased and configured, no further transaction-based fees apply. When used alongside our integrated Xfreight solution, the savings typically offset the licence costs within twelve months.
