Interview with Daniela Picture

Consulting at XTRAS: Daniela's start and her goals for 2025.

Today, we’re taking a behind-the-scenes look at XTRAS Consulting. Meet Daniela, who joined our team in 2024. She shares insights about her exciting start, her responsibilities in consulting, her passion for logistics, and her ambitions for the future.

Klaudia: Hi Daniela! You joined the XTRAS Consulting team in August 2024. How has your start with us been?

Daniela: Hi Klaudia! I’m thrilled to be part of the consulting team now. My start here was exciting, and I felt well-supported from the very beginning. What I particularly appreciate is the open, collaborative atmosphere and the flexibility to work from home.
At the moment, I’m focusing on the test environment of the Xfreight software to better understand how processes are being digitized and which functionalities—such as the upcoming B2B e-invoicing requirements—could be added to meet current legal standards.

Klaudia: Can you tell us a bit more about yourself? What excites you in your personal life, and how did your journey lead you to XTRAS?

Daniela: I’m a proud mom of two little boys and the owner of a horse—so my free time is always well-filled! We live in a suburb of Bremen, where we enjoy the tranquility and proximity to nature. I’ve been living the “horse girl dream” since I was 11 years old. Riding not only keeps me active but also gives me the perfect inner balance.
Professionally, I’ve always been drawn to the world of freight forwarding and logistics. That’s why I pursued a part-time degree in International Logistics Management at DAV in Bremen. After the birth of my sons, I spent two years working in customs consultancy, where I gained valuable expertise. In addition to offering professional consulting, I also managed the customs software there.
However, I started missing the freight forwarding world, and the desire to return to this field grew stronger. At the same time, I wanted a role that would fit well with my family life. A friend told me about the consulting position at XTRAS, and I immediately knew this was exactly what I had been looking for. So, I submitted an unsolicited application—and fortunately, I got the job!

Klaudia: Your professional background and personality are a perfect fit for our company, and we’re so happy to have you on the team. Could you give us an overview of your tasks and day-to-day work?

Daniela: Of course! I’m involved in consulting in the areas of customs, sea freight, and approval processes in financial accounting. My work includes direct customer support as well as close collaboration with our developers. While the development team focuses on the technical functionality, we test the solutions for user-friendliness. Another key part of my role is researching current legal requirements to ensure that all our solutions comply with regulations

Klaudia: When it comes to regulatory compliance and software compatibility, quick responses to changes are crucial. What methods have you developed to stay efficient in this area?

Daniela: We use a ticket system that makes it possible to identify tasks and open issues immediately and process them efficiently. The developers work agilely on a flexible ERP architecture, which enables rapid implementation of customer-specific adaptations and at the same time ensures that we can react flexibly to changes in requirements.

Klaudia: The year 2024 is drawing to a close, and it’s the time when many people start planning for the future. Is there anything you’d particularly like to achieve in the coming year?

Daniela: At the moment, I’m deeply focused on understanding the software and automated processes. My goal for the near future is not only to apply this knowledge but also to contribute to concrete projects that deliver real value. I’m excited to further develop my expertise and use it to support both our customers and the team to the best of my ability.

Klaudia: I wish you all the best with that Thank you for the chat!

Daniela: Thank you
